This year the D.C eBay StartUp Cup Challenge supported over 50 business builders all of whom participated in the July 2018 kick-off event “Extreme Build-a-Business Weekend.” The Top 7 will presented their final pitches to a panel of judges. The event saw local small business community leaders, friends and family of the business builders.

Through a competitive business building process that took place over five months, winners of the first D.C eBay StartUp Cup Challenge were announced on Friday, November 30, 2018. Congratulations to first place winner, Jhavon Smith-Kashif of NailBed & Bar, second place winner DeVaughn Bell of The Empty Plate and third place winner, Pinkey Reddick CEO & Founder of  PINKE’S E.A.T.S.

The three winning Washington D.C -based businesses were recognized and awarded a total of $17,500 in cash and prizes to further develop their businesses. The eBay StartUp Cup Challenge is a global accelerator program consisting of four competitions spanning 3 countries, expanding access to entrepreneurial resources for people from diverse backgrounds.
